Hana Čápová was born on April 24, 1956 in Prague.

In 1971–1975 she graduated from the V. Hollar Secondary School of Fine Arts in Prague (Prof. J. Horánek) and between years 1977–1983 from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague
(Atelier of Illustration and Graphics, Prof. J. Mikula).

She was a member of the prestigious Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR. Her work is admired by visitors in the Czech Republic and beyond, such as Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Korea, the USA, Japan, Mexico and China.

She has received a number of important international awards for her work.

Hana Čápová died on May 11, 2019 in Prague.
